Empowering Women Through Sozni Embroidery at Handicrafts Centre in Jammu & Kashmir This Centre in Tral has been established by the Handicrafts Department, Jammu & Kashmir. The centre has been running for two years and it is in its third year now. We are doing Sozni embroidery. We are eighteen of us here. We learnt Sozni embroidery here. All the girls should be learning this skill. We work here as well as at home. We have benefitted a lot from doing Sozni embroidery, said a girl at the centre. They get a monthly stipend of Rs 1000, said the person at the Tral Centre. This is a very easy work and we enjoy doing Sozni embroidery, a girl working at the Centre said. I want everyone to learn the same way we learned, said another woman at the Handicrafts Centre in Tral.
