Education Minister J&K reviews arrangements for Board Examinations

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 13: Minister for Education, Social Welfare, and Health & Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, chaired a crucial meeting at the Civil Secretariat to finalise preparations for the upcoming Board examinations for 10th, 11th, and 12th classes.

Addressing the officials, Minister Itoo emphasised the importance of ensuring a conducive environment for students at examination centres. She directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that essential amenities such as adequate lighting, seating arrangements, and heating facilities are provided to facilitate a comfortable experience for students. The Minister stressed that the primary goal is to ensure smooth, fair, and stress-free examinations, and urged all stakeholders—including district administrations, the education department, and the JKBOSE—to work in close coordination.

To maintain the integrity and security of the examination process, Minister Itoo directed the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to implement strict security measures at examination centers. She called for the deployment of sufficient personnel at the centres to ensure that only students and authorized staff are allowed entry. Additionally, the Minister recommended the establishment of mobile flying squads to prevent any malpractice during the examinations.

In a bid to streamline operations further, the Minister called for the establishment of joint control rooms in each district for efficient monitoring of the exam process. She also instructed Chief Education Officers to maintain constant communication with their staff on the ground, ensuring real-time updates and swift problem-solving during the examinations.

Addressing potential challenges posed by security forces’ convoy movements, the Minister directed the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to ensure that students’ movement along highways is facilitated without disruptions. She advised coordination with the concerned security agencies to treat students’ admit cards as passes during convoy movements.

Furthermore, Minister Itoo ordered the formation of inspection squads at divisional and district levels to monitor the smooth conduct of the examinations. These teams will oversee all operational aspects of the exams and ensure everything is in place for students.

During the meeting, the Chairperson of JKBOSE updated the Minister on the preparations for the examinations, including the status of material dispatched to various centres. The meeting concluded with the Minister reiterating her commitment to ensuring the best possible environment for students during the Board exams, with all necessary arrangements in place to uphold the integrity and smooth execution of the process.
