Baramulla, April 6,2026- The spirit of faith, unity, and remembrance marked the Easter celebrations at St. Joseph’s Church, where members of the Christian community gathered alongside local residents and officials to celebrate the auspicious occasion.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Saeed Fakhruddin Hamid, whose presence added significance to the celebrations. Easter greetings were extended to the community, reflecting the administration’s commitment to fostering communal harmony and inclusive participation.
On the occasion, a visit was also made to the Martyrs’ Memorial at St. Joseph’s Church to pay tribute to the victims of the 1947 tribal invasion of Kashmir. The tribute honored the memory of nuns and civilians who lost their lives during the tragic events, acknowledging their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.
Officials and attendees observed that remembering such chapters of history is vital to preserving collective memory, promoting historical awareness, and honoring those who stood for humanity and selfless service.
