SHOPIAN, JULY 29: The District Surveillance Unit (DSU) Shopian, under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), has launched a series of comprehensive screening and awareness programmes across various blocks of the district, focusing on Hepatitis B and C.
These initiatives aim to spread awareness about the prevention, early detection, and management of Hepatitis B and C among the general public. Medical teams conducted on-spot screenings, distributed educational materials, and engaged with local communities to dispel myths and encourage timely testing and treatment.
Health officials stressed the importance of regular screening, safe practices, and vaccination as key tools in curbing the spread of viral hepatitis. The awareness sessions also highlighted government health schemes and facilities available for treatment under the National Viral Hepatitis Control Programme (NVHCP).
The drive witnessed active participation from ASHA workers, ANMs, school children, and community leaders, making it a collective effort toward a Hepatitis-free society.
