DREAM Project Launched in Kashmir: A Step Toward Global-Level Education & Women Empowerment The Jammu and Kashmir administration is making a lot of efforts to provide quality education in government schools, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha while inaugurating DREAM project at Government Girls Higher Secondary School at Kothibagh in Srinagar. The flame of education that was ignited in a school in Kozhikode, Kerala district has today reached Kothibagh in Kashmir. This unique education campaign has bridged the gap between Kerala and Kashmir.
Through the project Developing Resilient Education and Aspirational Mindsets (DREAM), we can provide education to the child at global level. And this school will succeed in creating a conducive environment for that child to dream big and fulfill his aspirations, LG said. Whenever I say this, I feel proud that our girls have performed better than the boys. If I talk about university gold medals, roughly 75% of the gold medals today are being won by our girls. There is an Agriculture University in Jammu. When I went there last year, out of 16 gold medals, 15 were awarded to our girls, LG stated. I have seen this with my own eyes over the past five years.
If I talk about startups, there are more than 1100 startups registered with the Commerce Ministry of the Government of India. In this too, more than one-third of the startups are being done by our girls. This is also a matter of pride for Jammu and Kashmir.
Our girls are also building a strong foundation for women-led development. Premier Higher Education Systems is operational in Jammu Kashmir today due to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s efforts. Atal Tinkering Labs are being set up in a large number of schools across Jammu and Kashmir to inculcate scientific temper in children. The initiative launched today will create a supportive and inclusive environment for both teachers and students. Our girls from Jammu and Kashmir will play a leading role in building a developed India, LG said.
