Srinagar, May 18, 2026- Senior BJP leader and Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, has been selected for the prestigious Lal Ded National Award in recognition of her contributions to social service, women empowerment and public outreach initiatives.
The award honours individuals who have made significant contributions towards society while promoting the values of peace, harmony and cultural heritage associated with the legacy of Lal Ded, the revered Kashmiri mystic poetess and spiritual icon.
Political leaders, social organisations and supporters congratulated Dr Andrabi on the achievement, describing the recognition as a proud moment for Jammu and Kashmir.
