Doppler Weather Radar inaugurated in J&K’s Banihal

On the foundation day of India Meteorological Department, in Jammu & Kashmir’s Banihal top, a Doppler Weather Radar was inaugurated. A new historical chapter has been added to the progress of modern Kashmir by the weather department under the guidance of the PM Shri Narendra Modi. It is a big achievement, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. India Meteorological Department was established in 1875. The weather department has been playing a notable role since then to protect the common man’s life and livelihood. Based on the weather system, new momentum has been witnessed in the economy and in food security. The National Weather Forecasting Centre has played a vital role in our country.Even in the fields of power transmission, civil aviation, railways and tourism because of the weather forecasting, new energy has been infused The Doppler Weather Radar will play an important role in making all the sectors capable. It will provide important weather information. It will help the government in forecasting and protecting people from adverse weather impacts.It will help us to improve the services being provided in welfare and security to a great extent, said the Lieutenant Governor.
