Srinagar, November 5,2025: The Divisional Commissioner (DivCom) Kashmir today chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of the civil enclave expansion project at Srinagar Airport, aimed at enhancing passenger capacity and improving overall infrastructure to meet growing air traffic demands.
During the meeting, the DivCom took a detailed assessment of the ongoing works, land acquisition, and inter-departmental coordination required to expedite the project. He emphasised timely completion of all formalities to ensure that the expanded civil enclave meets the standards of a modern, world-class terminal.
Officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Indian Air Force (IAF), and district administration briefed the DivCom on current progress, design layout, and proposed facilities, including upgraded passenger amenities, parking zones, and access roads.
The DivCom directed concerned departments to resolve all pending issues related to land transfer, utilities, and clearances to avoid delays. He highlighted that the expansion will significantly improve passenger convenience, flight operations, and tourism connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The proposed civil enclave is expected to feature a larger terminal building, modern security systems, additional check-in counters, and enhanced waiting areas to handle the increasing number of domestic and international travellers visiting the Valley.
