Divisional Commissioner Jammu chairs meeting to plan Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025 arrangements

Jammu, March 12, 2025 – Ramesh Kumar, the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday with district administrations to discuss preparations for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025. The meeting, held to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage, was attended by key officials, including the Commissioner of Jammu Municipal Corporation and Deputy Commissioners from Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Reasi, and Ramban.

The discussions focused on assessing existing facilities and identifying areas for improvement along the yatra routes in the Jammu Division. Ramesh Kumar sought detailed updates on lodgement centers and sanitation facilities, directing district administrations to submit reports on current infrastructure and proposals for additional constructions. The meeting reviewed arrangements made during the previous yatra and explored opportunities to enhance services for pilgrims in 2025.

Officials briefed the Divisional Commissioner on last year’s logistics and outlined plans to augment facilities, such as repairing existing infrastructure and building new amenities. The Shri Amarnathji Yatra, a significant religious event, draws thousands of devotees annually to the holy cave shrine in south Kashmir, with Jammu serving as a critical hub for pilgrims.

In addition to yatra preparations, Ramesh Kumar instructed Deputy Commissioners to ensure robust arrangements for the upcoming Holi festival across their districts. The meeting underscored a proactive approach to managing both events, emphasizing coordination and timely execution to support pilgrims and residents alike.
