Srinagar, April 29,2026-Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Tuesday held a meeting with religious leaders from diverse faiths, urging their active participation in the upcoming Nasha Mukt J&K Padyatra as part of the ongoing anti-drug अभियान.
The meeting witnessed participation from Imams, members of the Shia community, representatives of the Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, and members of the migrant Hindu community, reflecting a unified stand against substance abuse.
During the interaction, Anshul Garg appreciated the proactive role played by religious leaders in the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, highlighting their influence in spreading awareness through religious institutions and community outreach.
He emphasized that religious leaders hold a vital position in society and their involvement is crucial in combating the growing menace of narcotics. He also extended a formal invitation to all religious figures, across faiths and sects, to participate in large numbers in the padyatra scheduled for May 3.
The participants shared constructive suggestions and assured full cooperation and enthusiastic participation in the campaign, reaffirming their commitment to building a drug-free society in Jammu and Kashmir.
