Ramban, March 25, 2025 – The District Administration Ramban took a significant step in its fight against drug abuse by organising a workshop under the Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan at the Conference Hall in Maitra. The event, held on March 24, 2025, aimed to train resource persons to lead an awareness drive across the district as part of a broader initiative to curb substance abuse in Jammu and Kashmir.
Deputy Commissioner Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary led the workshop, emphasizing the need for collective action to address the growing menace of drug addiction. He called upon officials and community stakeholders to work together in raising awareness and supporting affected individuals. As part of the campaign, the DC directed officials to organize Nukkad Nataks (street plays) and community outreach programs to engage the public and educate them about the dangers of drug abuse.
The Nasha Mukt JK Abhiyan aligns with the national Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a flagship program launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to promote a drug-free society. The workshop saw participation from various departments and local representatives, reflecting a united effort to make Ramban a drug-free district. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen preventive measures and support systems for those battling addiction in the region.
