JAMMU, JULY 10: Director Sheep Husbandry Department Jammu Dr. Syed Moin –Ul -Haq visited Govt. Sheep Breeding Farm Panthal and reviewed its functioning.
During the visit, the Director stressed on field functionaries to put extra efforts for development of Sheep and goat sectors.
The department has major role in development of small ruminants sector to update the socio-economic status of rural masses at the union territory, he said.
The Director also inspected infrastructure of the Farm and asked the departmental functionaries to manage their farms on modern scientific lines so that they serve as role model for the private breeders. This will on the other hand help in development of livestock sector of UT, he added.
During the visit, he took stock of the working of the office and reviewed its functioning and asked the officers/ officials to work for the welfare of Government livestock so that a good number of rams of superior germplasm are distributed to the breeders for the improvement in breeds of their livestock.
He was accompanied by Dr. Surinder Gupta, Deputy Director (Central) and Dr. Anil Kumar Koul, Assistant Project Officer Jammu/Warwan. Dr. Deepanjali Verma, Assistant Director SBF Panthal briefed the Director about the functioning of the farm.
