Differently-Abled Man Gains Fame for His Dedication & Service at Khidmat Centre in Pulwama, J&K. Zahoor Ahmad Dar is an amazing man of this village in Pulwama, Jammu & Kashmir, despite being handicapped, said a senior villager. He runs a Khidmat Centre in Laroo village in Pulwama district where people can deposit their electricity bills or withdraw money anytime without any hassles. He is a BC or Banking Correspondent which is commonly known as Khidmat Centre, informed a J&K Bank official. Zahoor is hardworking, punctual and works with dedication. He does his job very well and hence he is famous in this region, the bank official added. Before February, there were 72 Khidmat Centres, and in February 41 more BCs or Khidmat Centres were appointed. Now the total number of Khidmat Centres is 113 in this region. These BCs do very good work in their area because their job is to serve the people. Zahoor said he had come in 2009 and saw the notification for this job and filled the form. After filling the form he was appointed as BC or Banking Correspondent also called Khidmat Centre. Till 2017, he worked on documentation. After that came the work of online transaction. In online transaction we distribute the funds that come from the Government for widows, widower, handicapped person, etc, said Zahoor. Next at Khidmat Centre, the common man can withdraw money. Till 2014 up to Rs 10,000 was allowed. Now, the withdrawal amount has increased to Rs 20,000, which is provided on customers showing their Aadhar Card or ATM card. In the next, line of work, the common man pay their electricity bills here, said the Banking Correspondent Zahoor.
