BUDGAM, DECEMBER 07: Principal Secretary, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Dheeraj Gupta, today visited Budgam and convened public darbar to assess issues and concerns of locals.
Principal Secretary listened took stock of public grievances and demands besides reviewing ongoing development activities in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Akshay Labroo, SSP Budgam Al- Tahir Gilani, ADDC Budgam, Dr. Akhramullah Tak, CMO, CEO, ACD, SDMs, Executive Engineers of different wings, CHO, CAO, BDOs, PRIs, social activists and general public were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Secretary appreciated the District Administration for taking stringent action against illegal mining in Paller area of the district. He encouraged the concerned to ensure tight vigil is maintained and quick action is taken against river bed mining and illegal mining activities.
Dheeraj Gupta said that lot of work has been done and most of issues have been addressed or being resolved in a stipulated timeframe.
Principal Secretary appreciated public participation in such programmes and emphasised on creating massive awareness regarding the online services and digitization among the general public so that people can avail benefits under different schemes and flagship programs of the Government. He said that public participation in interaction programs or public darbars is important to make public part of government’s developmental activities and ensure successful implementation of flagship initiatives and welfare schemes at the grass root level.
Dheeraj Gupta said that Budgam district is speedily growing in terms of development and asked officers to ensure timely completion of all ongoing developmental projects.
While taking cognisance of recent demands raised by the general public, Principal Secretary, said that all these will be taken up with the concerned quarters for timely and early action.
On the occasion, Dheeraj Gupta also felicitated various Pani Samiti Committee members for declaring Har Ghar Jal Village, having 100 percent FHTC under JJM in Budgam district.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that district administration is committed towards ensuring completion of developmental projects of the area in a time bound manner. He said all the directions and suggestions have been duly recorded and will be adhered.
DC informed the Principal Secretary that out of the 76 issues registered in previous public darbar held on 27 October, 32 issues have already been taken up for redressal. Besides, remaining 44 issues are being taken up with the relevant quarters to be addressed on priority in next financial year.
It is apt to mention that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has deployed the Administrative Secretaries to conduct Public Darbars in the assigned districts to hear and redress the grievances of general public.
