Baltal, July 2025 — In a continued effort to ensure the safety and well-being of pilgrims participating in the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir Shri Nalin Prabhat, along with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Central Kashmir Range, and other senior officers, conducted a comprehensive security review along the Baltal axis.
The top officials closely assessed the ground deployment of forces, communication infrastructure, surveillance systems, and emergency response mechanisms in place along the Baltal route, which remains one of the key access points to the holy cave shrine. The visit underscores the J&K Police’s commitment to maintaining a secure environment for the lakhs of pilgrims undertaking the spiritual journey.

Following the review along the route, the officers visited the Shadipora, Manigam, and Baltal Yatra camps where they evaluated both security arrangements and pilgrim facilities. Discussions were held with camp authorities and field officers to ensure seamless coordination between security forces and civil administration, with a focus on managing crowd flow, providing medical assistance, and strengthening surveillance systems.
DGP Nalin Prabhat appreciated the efforts of all personnel involved in the Yatra management and emphasized the need for heightened vigilance, particularly during peak movement hours. He reiterated that the safety of yatris remains the top priority of Jammu and Kashmir Police, and all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage experience.
The visit comes as part of the continuous monitoring being carried out by senior security officials to adapt to the dynamic requirements of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and to swiftly respond to any emerging challenges.
