Deputy Commissioner Rajouri conducts on spot inspection of Development Projects

RAJOURI, DECEMBER 15: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal, undertook a comprehensive inspection of several ongoing development projects today, emphasizing their importance in uplifting the lives of the people in the district. The visit aimed to assess the progress made on key initiatives and ensure the timely completion of the projects to benefit the local communities.
At Bindi bridge, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed by the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (R&B) about the estimated cost of the project, which amounts to Rs 2.92 crore. Once the bridge is operational, it is expected to significantly improve surface connectivity, benefiting approximately 15,000 individuals in the area. The Deputy Commissioner lauded the efforts made so far and directed the officers to maintain the pace of work to meet the timeline of the project
Moving on to Panchayat Badhoon-A, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal inspected the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) scheme, a critical water supply project estimated at a cost of Rs 4.9 crores. The primary objective of this scheme is to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply to a population of around 4,200 people residing in the area.
Additionally, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the advancements made on the water supply scheme in Badhoon-B, being executed under the JJM, with an estimated cost of Rs 969 lacs. This particular scheme, upon completion, will extend its benefits to approximately 3,000 individuals. Expressing contentment with the progress observed, the Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal directed the concerned officers to maintain the momentum and focus on ensuring the successful implementation of these vital projects.
The Deputy Commissioner proceeded to inspect the Nagrota Thathi road, where the Executive Engineer of PMGSY shared that the road spans a total length of 9 kilometers and has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.7 crore. The PMGSY road from Nagrota to Thathi Badoon is expected to enhance connectivity for residents in the area, facilitating better access to essential services.
During the course of the visit, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected the culverts in the main market in Nagrota, which has been successfully completed under the Rural Development Department (RDD).
Expressing his satisfaction with the progress witnessed across all projects, Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal emphasized their significance in improving the lives of the people residing in the district. He directed the officers to remain diligent and ensure that the construction work is completed within the stipulated time frame while adhering to the highest quality standards. The Deputy Commissioner reassured the public that the administration remains committed to the development and welfare of the district, and every effort is being made to guarantee the successful execution of these projects.
