On February 28, 2025, Baramulla took a bold step toward environmental sustainability with the launch of the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (RRR) Centre by the Municipal Committee Baramulla. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform waste management by promoting the three Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—among residents, fostering a cleaner, greener future. The grand opening, led by Deputy Commissioner Mr. Minga Sherpa, saw enthusiastic support from local leaders and the community. “This is about turning waste into a resource, and it starts with every resident,” Sherpa said, emphasising collective action. The RRR Centre will offer workshops on waste segregation, recycling programs, and collection facilities to empower residents and cut landfill waste.
