Deputy Chief Minister engages with delegations on regional welfare and development issues

Jammu, November 27: Scores of deputations from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir called on Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Surinder Kumar Choudhary, today, raising key issues concerning the welfare and development of the region.

Among the delegations, a prominent one from the All Employees Joint Action Committee Kashmir (AEJAK) and All Sikh Minority Employees Association Kashmir (ASMEAK), led by their Chairperson, Jagmeet Kour Bali, highlighted concerns specific to the minority employee community. The discussion focused on the need for better representation and support for minority employees, as well as issues related to employment opportunities, healthcare, healthcare, and social justice. The Chairperson emphasized the importance of creating a conducive environment that would enable the minority community to thrive and contribute effectively to the region’s progress.

Another delegation, the Trikuta Nagar Traders Association, raised concerns about the urgent need for the upgradation and renovation of public spaces and utilities in their area, seeking improvements to infrastructure that would enhance the living conditions and business environment in the locality.

The Horticulture Non-Gazetted Union brought forward the issue of pay anomalies, urging the government to address disparities in compensation. The union also called for an amendment to the Service Rules 1998 and the upgradation of departmental quotas at both the district and divisional levels, aiming for better representation and benefits for their members.

In addition, deputations from Banihal, Talwara, Rajouri, Paddar, and Samba raised concerns related to the development needs of their respective areas, focusing on infrastructure, road connectivity, and other local amenities to improve the quality of life for residents.

Interacting with the deputations, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Surinder Kumar Choudhary assured the representatives of timely and effective redressal of their concerns. He emphasized the administration’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of the region, fostering a supportive environment for all communities, and ensuring equitable growth for Jammu and Kashmir.

The Deputy Chief Minister assured that the government would continue to engage with stakeholders at all levels to ensure that the region’s progress is inclusive and meets the aspirations of its diverse population.
