Doda, Jammu & Kashmir, July 16, 2025 – District Development Commissioner (DDC) Doda, Harvinder Singh (IAS), chaired a pivotal review meeting on July 15, 2025, at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to evaluate the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) in Doda district. The meeting focused on fostering inter-departmental coordination, ensuring timely action, and enhancing public awareness to empower farmers, promote sustainable agriculture, and drive rural upliftment.
The DDC reviewed the implementation status of HADP initiatives, assessing both physical and financial progress across key sectors, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Floriculture, and Sericulture. Detailed presentations by departmental officials highlighted achievements, ongoing projects, and challenges, with a particular emphasis on meeting set targets. Harvinder Singh stressed the importance of timely execution to deliver tangible benefits to the farming community, urging departments to operate in “mission mode” for maximum impact.
“Effective coordination and proactive measures are crucial for the success of HADP,” the DDC stated, calling for seamless inter-departmental convergence to strengthen the agricultural ecosystem. He directed officials to intensify mass awareness campaigns to boost farmer participation, emphasising the need for outreach in rural areas to ensure widespread adoption of HADP schemes. The meeting also addressed the status of online application processing and fund utilisation, with instructions to expedite approvals and maintain transparency in expenditure.
The DDC underscored HADP’s role in creating a robust and profitable agricultural framework, vital for uplifting Doda’s rural economy. He encouraged the adoption of innovative farming techniques suited to the district’s terrain to enhance crop quality and yield, thereby improving farmers’ incomes and generating employment opportunities. The establishment of sale points, mandis, cold storage, and agro-processing units was also discussed as a means to bolster sustainable agricultural growth.
