POONCH, FEBRUARY 20: Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting to review the implementation progress of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in the district. The scheme aims to empower artisans and craftsmen by providing essential training, modern tools, and market linkages to enhance their skills and livelihoods.
The meeting began with a comprehensive overview of the scheme’s achievements, presented by the General Manager of the District Industries Centre . The Deputy Commissioner inquired about the beneficiaries at both the Gram Panchayat and District levels, stressing the importance of clearing pending applications in a timely manner. He also directed the Lead Bank Manager to expedite the clearance of pending applications across all bank branches.
Further, the meeting focused on the pending applications at the block level, with Block Development Officers joining virtually to provide updates from their respective areas. The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for mass awareness campaigns to engage a larger number of artisans and ensure maximum participation in the scheme.
