DC Udhampur reviews TB Mukt Bharat drive

Udhampur, March 18,2026- Deputy Commissioner Udhampur on Wednesday chaired a comprehensive review meeting with officers of the Health Department to assess the progress of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, with a strong focus on accelerating efforts towards making the district tuberculosis-free.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of key performance indicators, including the number of TB tests conducted, treatment success rates, and patient tracking mechanisms. Emphasis was laid on ensuring early detection and timely treatment to curb the spread of the disease.

The DC also reviewed the status of Ni-Kshay Mitra initiative registrations, urging officials to increase community participation and encourage more individuals and organizations to come forward in supporting TB patients through nutritional and financial assistance.

Focus on Expanding Testing and Outreach
Highlighting the importance of aggressive screening, the Deputy Commissioner directed health अधिकारियों to expand testing facilities and intensify awareness drives, particularly in rural and high-risk areas. He stressed the need for door-to-door screening campaigns and better coordination among field staff to identify undiagnosed cases.

Officials were instructed to strengthen follow-up mechanisms to ensure that patients adhere to treatment protocols, thereby improving recovery rates and preventing relapse or drug-resistant TB cases.

Call for Coordinated Action
The DC underscored the need for a coordinated approach involving healthcare workers, पंचायत representatives, and civil society to achieve the लक्ष्य of a TB-free Udhampur. He also called for regular monitoring of progress and timely reporting to ensure accountability at all levels.
