Udhampur, May 5,2026-In a continued effort to combat drug abuse and spread awareness among the youth, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, unveiled a Dogri video song titled “JAAL – Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.” The initiative aims to inspire young people to stay away from substance abuse and embrace a healthy, positive lifestyle.
Speaking at the launch event, Sherpa congratulated the production team for their creative effort and lauded the performance of young artist Deep Kumar, whose work carries a strong social message. He highlighted the importance of using cultural and artistic platforms to influence society, particularly the youth, in a meaningful way.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that eradicating the drug menace is a shared responsibility and cannot be achieved by the administration alone. He called for a united and coordinated effort from all stakeholders, including families, educators, law enforcement agencies, and civil society, to effectively tackle the issue.
The video song “JAAL” portrays the harsh realities of drug addiction while promoting awareness, resilience, and the importance of making the right choices. Officials noted that such initiatives play a crucial role in strengthening ongoing anti-drug campaigns across Jammu and Kashmir.
The event witnessed participation from officials, members of the cultural fraternity, and local youth, who reiterated their commitment to building a drug-free society.
