Srinagar, September 11,2025: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, today chaired a comprehensive meeting with branch heads of various banks to review their performance under multiple Credit Linked Government Schemes, including HADP, Mission YUVA, APY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, and agriculture credit schemes.
The DC conducted a branch-wise review of cases approved by the District Level Implementation Committees (DLICs) and evaluated the progress of banks in sanctioning and disbursing credit facilities to eligible beneficiaries. He emphasized that banks must ensure swift sanctioning and timely disbursement of financial assistance by strictly adhering to prescribed timelines.
Highlighting the need to bridge the gap between DLIC-approved and bank-sanctioned cases, Labroo urged bankers to accelerate processes and extend proper handholding to beneficiaries so that the common public can avail themselves of timely benefits under the schemes.
The meeting also reviewed progress under Financial Inclusion Schemes such as the Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). The DC directed banks to prioritize sanctioning and disbursal in a time-bound manner and work towards saturating all government-sponsored financial inclusion initiatives. He further asked bankers to intensify outreach activities and maximize enrolments under these schemes to benefit the target population.
Underscoring the importance of youth empowerment, Labroo instructed banks to give priority to Mission YUVA and the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP), which are designed to generate self-employment opportunities and strengthen livelihoods.
