Srinagar, November 6,2025: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, visited “Palash” and “Pareesha” Children Homes for boys and girls respectively, located at Gupt Ganga, Nishat, to assess the functioning and facilities provided to the enrolled children. The visit was aimed at ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment for the overall development of the children.
Accompanied by senior officials including Additional DC Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, Chief Planning Officer Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tahir Sajad, and other concerned officers, the DC inspected various sections of the homes, including reading rooms, classrooms, dormitories, dining and cooking areas, and enquired about the facilities in education, healthcare, lodging, boarding, sports, and recreation.
During interactions with children and staff, the DC emphasised the importance of holistic care and assured all possible support from the District Administration. He directed officers to promptly meet the requirements of the children and ensure effective implementation of welfare initiatives.
Key directives included providing sports kits and equipment for both homes and establishing a volleyball court at Pareesha. Additionally, the Chief Medical Officer was asked to conduct a special health screening cum check-up camp for all children.
The DC appreciated the dedication of the Social Welfare Department, management, and staff of both homes and urged them to continue their efforts with renewed zeal to enhance the facilities and well-being of the children.
