DC Samba reviews progress on Bari Brahmana to Ghagwal NHW stretch

Samba, January 20: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma, conducted a fortnightly inspection of the ongoing construction work on the National Highway stretch from Bari Brahmana to Ghagwal. The visit aimed to assess the progress of the project and ensure minimal disruption to traffic flow, prioritising public convenience. The DC was accompanied by SDMs, Tehsildars, Traffic Police officials, and officers from the National Highways Authority of India .

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed the executing agencies to expedite construction activities while ensuring that traffic movement remains smooth and uninterrupted. He emphasised the need to address public inconvenience promptly, stressing the importance of filling potholes and installing clear signboards at diversion points to guide commuters safely.

A key focus of the inspection was the progress of flyover bridge construction at critical locations along the route. The DC instructed the agencies to adhere to project deadlines and maintain high standards of safety and quality. To further streamline the process, he formed sub-division level committees, led by relevant officers, to oversee the construction progress and resolve any issues faced by the public or the construction teams.

Reaffirming the administration’s commitment to the project, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised that the primary objective is to ensure that commuters experience minimal inconvenience and that traffic flow remains seamless. He urged all stakeholders to work in close coordination to ensure the timely and successful completion of the project.
