POONCH, FEBRUARY 18 – Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting at the DC Office complex to review the progress of ongoing works under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme in the district.
The concerned executing agency provided a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation outlining the current status of the RDSS projects. The scheme, which is focused on strengthening the power distribution infrastructure in Poonch, involves several key initiatives, including the installation of 11,000 poles, the laying of Low Tension Aerial Bunched Cables (LT ABC), and the addition of 500 new distribution transformers. These efforts are aimed at upgrading outdated infrastructure and significantly reducing Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses in the district.
During the meeting, DC Vikas Kundal inquired in detail about various aspects of the project, such as the material supply status, the current progress on each feeder, and the status of key items like poles, conductors, LT AB cables, and transformer replacements. He also emphasised the importance of ensuring timely completion of the works under the scheme.
The DC instructed the Junior Engineers to conduct onsite inspections of the installations, stressing the necessity of maintaining geo-tagged photographs to document the ongoing work. Additionally, he directed the concerned authorities to ramp up efforts against electricity theft and the illegal bypassing of meters, urging that penalties be imposed on defaulters as per the relevant laws.
Further, DC Kundal emphasised that all works under the RDSS be completed within the specified timelines to enhance the overall power distribution infrastructure in Poonch.
