REASI, JANUARY 30 – Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik chaired a detailed review meeting of the Revenue Department to assess the progress of several key initiatives, including the digitisation of land records, the eviction of encroachments from state land, and the status of ongoing revenue court cases. The meeting also focused on the implementation of the SAMITVA scheme, the online services available through the Jan Sugam portal, and the progress of land acquisition cases.
During the meeting, the DC emphasised the need to expedite the verification of Jamabandies and instructed the Tehsildars to complete this process within a week. She also stressed the importance of addressing concerns related to dual verification, ensuring that the digital records are accurate and up to date.
A significant focus was placed on the removal of encroachments from state land. The DC directed revenue officials to take immediate steps to ensure that no new encroachments occur, and to speed up the resolution of pending revenue court cases. Additionally, she highlighted the need for increased field visits, particularly to schools, to strengthen on-the-ground monitoring and governance.
The DC also addressed the importance of adherence to construction regulations. She urged officials to encourage citizens to obtain proper permissions for construction activities and emphasised the need for strict action against illegal structures.
In her address, DC Malik reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in revenue management. She called for proactive measures to streamline online services through the Jan Sugam portal and improve overall service delivery, making the system more accessible and responsive to the public.
The meeting was attended by ACR Anshumali Sharma, SDM Piyush Dhotra, SDM Mazzahir Hussain, and various Tehsildars from the region.
