DC Pulwama holds mega Block Diwas to address complaints of villagers in Tral’s Chewa Ullar village

A Mega Block Diwas was held at Chewa-Ullar area in Tral on May 10, 2023 under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Pulwama. The event saw massive public participation, a reflection of people’s confidence in the public outreach programme, said DC Pulwama. On the occasion, the DDC highlighted the objectives of the various governmental programmes , informing the public of various schemes and campaigns. This is the success of this mechanism, DC pulwama said. He said how in the last three years, the government has been making an effort to provide governance at the doorstep. He encouraged the participants to highlight their individual issues in order to avoid visits to government offices. This is a step in that direction, said DC Pulwama. He also directed the District and Sectoral officers to ensure service counters of their respective Departments at Block Diwas meetings. The Block Diwas is a day to bring forward complaints to the administration and the presence of respective departments representatives ensures the redressal of those issues, DC Pulwama said. They have made commitments with a quick reply, he said. The DC said he has made sure the officers commit only those promises which they can deliver. And after commitment, it becomes their responsibility to deliver. This way the public can reap the benefits of the various government schemes without visiting offices repeatedly, DC Pulwama said. DDC directed the concerned officers to be proactive and remain accessible to the people so that the purpose of the Block Diwas initiative is fulfilled. Sometimes the issues and demands are short-term like the demarcation of land. Some issues are medium and long-term like the creation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) by engineers. We work on this framework to resolve issues from short term to long term, DC Pulwama said at the Block Diwas.
