Poonch, February 4, 2025: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, chaired a comprehensive meeting to assess the progress of works under the District Capex Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. The meeting focused on both physical and financial updates, with a detailed review of ongoing projects and initiatives across various sectors.
Block Development Officers participated virtually, presenting updates on block-specific works under the District Development Council , Block Development Council , and Panchayati Raj Institutions . The BDOs provided reports on completed projects, those still under construction, and those considered non-feasible.
During the meeting, the DC emphasised the need to expedite pending works and urged BDOs to enhance fund utilisation, ensuring timely completion of projects. He stressed the importance of increasing expenditure to avoid delays and maximise the impact of allocated funds.
Executive Engineers provided detailed briefings on the progress of their respective projects, outlining the challenges faced, completed works, and plans for the future. The DC directed the engineers to optimise the use of allocated funds, ensuring that more projects could be completed within the prescribed timelines.
In a separate session, the DC also chaired a meeting to review and process permissions related to Change of Land Use cases within the district. After thorough discussions, 3 CLU applications were approved, 4 were reverted, 1 was rejected, and 2 were deferred for further review.
The DC emphasised the importance of adhering to established guidelines and policies when evaluating CLU cases and stressed the need for a transparent and efficient process. He also directed concerned authorities to ensure the timely issuance of No Objection Certificates to applicants, following thorough verification of their documents.
The meeting also saw the participation of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ACR), Divisional Forest Officer , Tehsildar Haveli, Executive Engineers from JPDCL and PWD , Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) from PHE, and representatives from GREF, along with other concerned officers.
