POONCH, April 17, 2025 – In a significant push to advance agricultural development, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, distributed e-certificates to 645 farmers who successfully completed the Daksh Kisan training program under the Holistic Agricultural Development Program on April 16, 2025. The ceremony, held in Poonch, marked a milestone in empowering local farmers with modern skills to enhance productivity and sustainability.
The Daksh Kisan initiative, a key component of HADP, offers 121 specialized courses through the Daksh Kisan Learning Management System, tailored to J&K’s agro-climatic zones. Over 29,000 farmers in Poonch have enrolled in HADP, reflecting robust community engagement. During the event, DC Kundal interacted with farmers, gaining insights into their experiences with HADP projects, including farm mechanization, access to quality seeds, and advanced training.
Kundal praised the farmers’ dedication, stating, “Your skills and knowledge will drive agricultural transformation in Poonch, farm by farm.” He urged departments to provide ongoing technical support to ensure the training translates into improved practices. The HADP, backed by a Rs 5,012 crore outlay, aims to build a Rs 1 lakh crore agri-economy in J&K by 2030, with Poonch emerging as a key contributor through its active participation.
The certificate distribution aligns with broader HADP efforts, including digital tools like the Kisan Saathi Portal and AI-based Credit Scheme Advisor, which streamline access to schemes. Farmers shared success stories, highlighting how training has boosted yields and introduced sustainable techniques.
