KUPWARA, JANUARY 21 – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, who also serves as the District Election Officer (DEO), convened a meeting to review the arrangements for the celebration of National Voters Day (NVD) on January 25.
The meeting involved a detailed discussion on the preparations for the smooth and successful celebration of the event, with the main function scheduled to be held at BHSS Kupwara.
DC Ayushi Sudan emphasized the importance of dedicated teamwork and close coordination among all departments to ensure a vibrant and impactful celebration of NVD. She instructed the Chief Education Officer (CEO) to organise Art and Essay competitions in Higher Secondary and High Schools across the district to engage students and raise awareness about the significance of voting.
In addition to the main function, the meeting also outlined plans for local-level celebrations at Assembly Constituencies and Booth-level locations across the district. The Booth Level Officers were tasked with conducting special voter registration drives to enroll new voters, along with the distribution of EPIC cards to newly registered voters.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including the SDM Lolab, ACR, Deputy DEO, CEO, ACP, ACD, CPO, Tehsildar Handwara, and other concerned officers.
The review meeting underscored the collective effort required to ensure the smooth conduct of NVD celebrations and promote voter awareness and participation throughout Kupwara.
