Kupwara, December 20: Ayushi Sudan, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and Chairperson of the District Disaster Management Authority convened a meeting to review the status of property damage cases in the district. The meeting focused on addressing the claims of individuals affected by various natural calamities, including landslides, floods, earthquakes, and fires.
During the meeting, the DC directed all concerned officers to submit joint assessment reports of damaged infrastructure within a week. She emphasized that the reports should also specify the causes of the incidents to ensure that relief is disbursed efficiently and without delay. “It is essential that all assessments are thorough and timely to expedite the relief process for affected families,” DC Sudan said.
A total of 35 cases were presented for review, covering damages to property and livestock. Of these, 34 cases were approved for relief under the State Disaster Response Fund norms, while 1 case was deferred for further clarification.
The approval of these cases marks a significant step in the district administration’s ongoing efforts to provide timely relief and support to those impacted by natural disasters.
