Kulgam, August 10,2026- Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam has urged residents to actively participate in the four-day Gram Sabhas being organised under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 across the district.
The Gram Sabhas are being held from August 9 to 12 across all 178 Panchayat Halqas of Kulgam, providing villagers with an opportunity to directly raise their concerns, highlight local needs and contribute to the identification of development priorities.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon people to make full use of the Gram Sabha platform and ensure their voices are reflected in the planning and implementation of rural development initiatives.
He stressed that active community participation is essential for effective grassroots governance, enabling local authorities to better understand the needs and priorities of each village.
The Gram Sabhas under PMAY-G 2.0 are aimed at strengthening participatory planning and ensuring that rural development efforts remain inclusive, transparent and responsive to the needs of local communities.
DC Shahzad Alam also encouraged residents, Panchayat representatives and other stakeholders to participate constructively in the proceedings and work collectively towards improving basic amenities and overall development in their villages.
