KULGAM, FEBRUARY 20: In preparation for the upcoming Mahashivratri celebrations, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan, convened a meeting with various officers at the Mini-Secretariat to review and finalise the arrangements.
During the meeting, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure the uninterrupted supply of essential services such as power and water to key areas, including Vessu Migrant Colony, Manzgam, Kulgam, Chawalgam, Devsar, and other areas where the Kashmiri Pandit community resides.
To support the traditional festive celebrations, the Assistant Director of Fisheries was instructed to set up sale outlets for trout fish at multiple locations. Additionally, the relevant officers were tasked with ensuring the timely supply of vegetables, flowers, and walnuts.
The Chief Medical Officer was advised to ensure the availability of medical facilities and ambulance services at key locations during the celebrations. Meanwhile, the Executive Officers of the municipalities were directed to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at all temples.
The meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner Mohammad Altaf Khan, Assistant Commissioner Development Syed Naseer Ahmad, Additional Commissioner Revenue Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Tehsildars, Engineers from PDD and PHE, Assistant Director FCS&CA, Chief Horticulture Officer , Executive Officers, and representatives from the Kashmiri Pandit community.
The concerted efforts outlined during the meeting are aimed at ensuring smooth and safe celebrations for Mahashivratri, with all necessary arrangements in place to support the festivities.
