Kulgam, September 24, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan inaugurated a Mega Awareness-cum-Registration Camp at the Mini Secretariat, organised by Urban Local Bodies Kulgam in collaboration with the District Administration, to enhance access to government services and promote digital inclusion. Awareness sessions highlighted women’s empowerment under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, environmental sustainability, and skill development opportunities, delivered by departmental experts and Urban Local Bodies Kulgam’s Nodal Officers. Special provisions ensured priority access for women, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals, with free counseling on legal aid and nutritional support, supplemented by informational brochures and helpline numbers.DC Athar Aamir Khan, speaking at the inauguration, underscored the camp’s role: “This initiative under Seva Parv brings government schemes directly to Kulgam’s people, empowering them with knowledge and access. We aim to replicate such efforts across rural blocks to ensure inclusive growth.” He instructed officials to plan additional drives to maintain outreach momentum.
The event aligns with Seva Parv’s broader impact across Jammu and Kashmir, where activities like health camps and cleanliness drives are fostering participatory governance. In Kulgam, it builds on recent successes such as mega health melas and youth skill programs, contributing to higher service saturation. The collaboration between Urban Local Bodies Kulgam and the District Administration exemplifies coordinated urban development, with plans for sustained follow-up initiatives.Social media amplified the event’s reach, with posts showcasing vibrant participation and trending under hashtags like Seva Parv and DCKulgam.
