Kulgam, November 2025: Deputy Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan chaired a Teachers’ Interaction and Feedback Session as part of the ongoing ‘Classes of Joy’ initiative — a collaborative effort between the District Administration Kulgam and Pratham Foundation aimed at improving foundational learning outcomes.
The initiative, implemented under the TRAL (Teaching at the Right Level) approach, seeks to bridge learning gaps among school children by tailoring teaching methods to their current learning levels rather than their age or grade.
During the session, DC Athar Aamir Khan interacted with teachers from various schools and reviewed the impact of the ‘Classes of Joy’ programme in enhancing literacy, numeracy, and classroom engagement. Teachers shared their experiences, success stories, and suggestions for further strengthening the initiative.
The DC appreciated the teachers’ commitment and the efforts of Pratham Foundation in supporting the district’s education goals. He emphasised that the initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to quality education, capacity building, and joyful learning for every child.
He also called for regular assessments and community participation to ensure sustainable improvements in student learning levels.
The session concluded with a reaffirmation of the district’s focus on innovation in education and inclusive learning opportunities for all children in Kulgam.
