KATHUA, JUNE 07: In view of ensuing annual Shri Amarnathji Yatra (SANJY- 2023, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas today convened a meeting of district officers to review the arrangements being put in place at Lakhanpur and along the Yatra route.
DC State Taxes Department, Ranjit Singh, Registrar, Suresh Kumar, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, PDD and other officers of line departments, besides representatives of civil society members and Industrial houses attended the meeting.
At the outset, threadbare discussion was held regarding the preparations and arrangements being made by different departments including provision of water and electricity, Medicare facilities, sanitation, security, besides status of ongoing works and other related arrangements.
The officers from all concerned departments apprised the DC about preparations and progress of works going on at Lakhanpur and other identified locations to facilitate yatris.
While reviewing the arrangements, the DC directed officials to make better planning and maintain inter-departmental coordination at all levels to complete the arrangements well ahead of the start of the annual Yatra. He further stressed on early execution of all development works for the smooth conduct of Yatra.
He exhorted the departments to maintain sanitation and cleanliness and sufficient public convenience/toilets at Lakhanpur and other halting places for Yatries. The special stress was laid on an efficient drainage system, adequate water supply and 24×7 power supply.
While interacting with Industrialists, the DC sought active participation from Industrial houses under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) during the ensuing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
