Ganderbal, September 04, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, conducted an extensive visit to several water-logged and vulnerable areas along Sindh Nallah today, personally monitoring the ground situation and reviewing ongoing flood response measures amid rising water levels.Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Fahim Bihaqi, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Executive Engineer Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC), Tehsildars of Tullamulla and Wakura, and other concerned officials, the DC inspected key affected sites including Shallabugh, Paribal Ghat, Gungji Gund, Malik Pora, Nariyan Bagh, Gadihanji Mohallah Rabitar, Gund Roshan, and adjoining areas impacted by the rising water levels in Sindh Nallah.During the visit, the ACR Ganderbal briefed the DC on the evacuation process, confirming that residents from partially submerged areas have been relocated to safer locations.
The Executive Engineer I&FC updated the DC on current water levels and actions taken to address water overtopping, prompting the DC to direct heightened alertness for all field staff and swift response measures in vulnerable zones.The DC further instructed the ACR to deploy officials in low-lying areas to ensure smooth and timely evacuation if needed. Later, at the temporary gauge in Gund-i-Roshan, he ordered the I&FC to station dedicated personnel for round-the-clock monitoring to enable real-time water level reporting.Appealing to local residents, the DC urged vigilance and relocation to safer locations as required, emphasizing that safeguarding lives is the administration’s utmost priority.
