GANDERBAL, AUGUST 19, 2025 : Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore chaired a meeting to review and finalise preparations for the upcoming Annual Gangabal Yatra. The Yatra is scheduled to commence on August 30, 2025, from Naranag, with the advance party proceeding to Gangabal on August 29.
During the meeting, the DC took stock of arrangements regarding lodging, sanitation, drinking water, firewood, toilet facilities, and the deployment of SDRF personnel, ensuring all essential requirements are in place for a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
The DC instructed concerned departments to complete all arrangements by August 26. The BMO Kangan was tasked with preparing a detailed deployment plan of doctors, along with adequate medicines, oxygen cylinders, and other medical equipment. Executive Engineer KPDCL was directed to ensure proper electricity supply and availability of gensets at key locations.
ACP Ganderbal was asked to arrange mobile toilet facilities at prominent points along the route. The Jal Shakti Department confirmed that in addition to portable water supply, sufficient water bottles will be provided at locations where portable drinking water is unavailable.
SDM Kangan was instructed to personally monitor all arrangements to ensure the Yatra concludes smoothly and successfully. The meeting was also attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Fahim Bihaqi, SDM Kangan, and other concerned officers.
