Doda, May 21, 2025 – District Development Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, inaugurated advanced Space and STEM Labs at Government Higher Secondary School Chilly-Bhallessa on May 20, 2025, to promote scientific temperament among students in remote areas. Established under the Doda District Plan, these facilities aim to bridge educational gaps and inspire innovation, aligning with STEMLab’s vision: “Talent knows no boundaries. Start local, think global.” A modern library was also introduced to support academic growth.
The Space Lab and STEM Lab provide hands-on learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, offering tools for exploring astronomy, robotics, and coding. These resources empower students in Chilly-Bhallessa to develop skills for global competitiveness, complementing India’s advancements in space exploration, such as ISRO’s recent milestones. DDC Singh also announced one-month extra academic classes for underperforming students to ensure inclusive education.
This initiative reflects Doda’s commitment to quality education. The labs and library aim to foster creativity and critical thinking, positioning students to contribute to local and global innovation. Community support, evident in online discussions, highlights enthusiasm for the project.
The effort complements regional initiatives like the Digital Creators JK Competition, encouraging local talent in photography, videography, and more. For updates, contact the Doda District Administration or the Department of Information and Public Relations.
