PULWAMA, MAY, 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom today conducted an extensive tour of the district to take stock of developmental works besides take first hand appraisal of issues projected by different communities living in the district.
During the tour, the DC visited Ziyarat Sharief Khanqah-e-Faiz Panah Tral, Jamia Masjid Tral, Shiv Temple Nowdal, Transit Accommodation Haal Pulwama and Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Awantipora.
While taking the stock of construction works, the DC directed the concerned executing agencies to speeding up the developmental works and complete the work within the stipulated time.
On the occasion, Auqaf Management seized the opportunity to apprise the DC regarding some vital issues including roads, electricity, drinking water, and sanitation for early redressal.
DC assured them that all the issues of public importance will be solved in a time bound manner.
He asked people to extend complete cooperation in effective implementation of development works.
He also took stock of other ongoing works and impressed upon the officers to ensure quality in developmental works so that the people of the area do not face any inconvenience.
While paying obeisance at the Shrine, he prayed for peace and highlighted the contribution of Saint regarding propagation of love and brotherhood.
Besides, DC also visited Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee Awantipora where the Committee members apprised him about the main issues being faced by them. He heard them patiently and assured that all issues of public importance will be looked into and redressed on top priority.
Later, the DC visited Jamia Masjid Noor Ul Islam (Darul Uloom) Tral where fire broke out early this morning and took stock of the fire incident occured and expressed grief over the tragic incident.
DC directed MC and Fire and Emergency Tral for conducting cleanliness in and around Jamia Masjid immediately.
At Transit accommodation Haal Pulwama, DC took stock of availability of facilities including Water, Electricity, Sanitation and development facilities. He also held an interaction with the residents who raised various demands pertaining to the welfare of community and habitation.
ADC Tral and concerned officers accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during his visit.
