Baramulla, January 19,2026 -Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today reviewed the progress of various projects being executed under the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in the district. The review meeting focused on implementation status, timelines, and quality standards of ongoing works.
During the meeting, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure timely submission of completion certificates for projects that have already been completed, stressing that procedural delays should not hamper future funding and approvals.
DC Sherpa specifically instructed engineers and executing agencies to prioritize NABARD works scheduled for completion by June and September 2026, emphasizing adherence to approved timelines and technical specifications. He said that any delay would be viewed seriously and accountability would be fixed where lapses are found.
The Deputy Commissioner also asked engineers to gear up for upcoming NABARD projects, ensuring advance planning, site readiness, and coordination among departments for smooth execution. He underscored that NABARD-funded projects play a crucial role in strengthening rural infrastructure, connectivity, and livelihood support in Baramulla district.
Reiterating the importance of quality, DC Baramulla stressed that all works must be executed as per prescribed norms to ensure durability and public benefit. He called for regular field monitoring and timely reporting to avoid cost escalation and delays.
Officials from concerned line departments and engineering wings attended the meeting and briefed the DC on the current status of projects.
