Baramulla,December 17,2025:Deputy Commissioner Baramulla on Tuesday reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan (PMSYM) Scheme in the district, aimed at providing social security to unorganised sector workers.
During the review meeting, the DC assessed enrolment progress, beneficiary coverage and awareness initiatives being undertaken at the field level. He stressed the need to accelerate registration of eligible workers, including labourers, street vendors, domestic workers and other unorganised sector employees, to ensure maximum outreach of the scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to strengthen coordination, intensify awareness campaigns and ensure hassle-free enrolment through Common Service Centres (CSCs). He also emphasised the importance of timely contribution deposits so that beneficiaries receive pension benefits without any impediment.
Officials informed the meeting about steps taken to identify eligible beneficiaries and resolve operational challenges. The DC urged field functionaries to maintain accurate records and monitor implementation regularly to achieve the scheme’s objectives.
The PMSYM Scheme provides a minimum assured pension to eligible workers after attaining the age of 60, reinforcing the government’s commitment to social security and welfare of the unorganised workforce.
