The Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla, Mr. Minga Sherpa, inaugurated the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle Centre established by the Municipal Committee Baramulla. This initiative aims to promote sustainable waste management practices in the region.
The RRR Centre is designed to encourage the community to adopt the three Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle—to minimise waste generation and promote environmental sustainability. By focusing on these practices, the centre seeks to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills, conserve natural resources, and reduce pollution.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by local officials, community leaders, and residents, all expressing their support for the initiative. The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of community participation in waste management and encouraged residents to actively engage with the centre’s programs.
The RRR Centre will offer various services, including educational workshops on waste segregation, recycling programs, and facilities for the collection and processing of recyclable materials. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices among the residents of Baramulla.
