BARAMULLA, July 23: In a significant step towards promoting youth empowerment and self-employment in Jammu and Kashmir, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today distributed sanction letters among 42 aspiring young entrepreneurs during the Roz-e-YUVA event.
The event, aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and livelihood generation among the youth, witnessed enthusiastic participation from unemployed youngsters, local officials, and beneficiaries of various government schemes. While addressing the gathering, DC Sherpa urged the youth to come forward and avail the benefits of several government initiatives designed to support startups, self-employment, and skill development.
He emphasised the importance of building sustainable livelihoods through entrepreneurship, innovation, and local enterprise development. “The administration is committed to handholding our youth through schemes like Mission Youth, MUMKIN, Tejaswini, and PMEGP, which are tailored to nurture talent and create employment opportunities,” he said.
The 42 selected youth received sanction letters for financial assistance under these schemes, empowering them to begin or scale up their business ventures across sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, retail, and services.
The Roz-e-YUVA initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to harnessing the potential of young minds and steering them toward constructive nation-building.
