patients, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, handed over a cheque of Rs. 2.47 lakh from the Red Cross Society to the Chief Medical Officer Baramulla. This fund will provide crucial nutritional support to TB patients under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana, a national initiative aimed at improving the nutritional status of those undergoing treatment for TB.

The event, which took place in the presence of key officials including the Chief Planning Officer Baramulla and the District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO), marked a significant moment in the district’s ongoing efforts to combat TB. The DC also distributed nutritional baskets to two TB patients, symbolizing the administration’s commitment to providing holistic care and support for those affected by the disease.

The Nikshay Poshan Yojana seeks to complement medical treatment by improving the nutritional intake of TB patients, which plays a crucial role in their recovery process. This initiative aligns with the district’s broader efforts to combat TB and achieve the national goal of a TB-free India by 2025.

The DC also highlighted that the District Administration has already adopted 165 TB patients, underscoring its proactive stance in tackling the disease and ensuring better outcomes for affected individuals.

The administration’s focus on nutrition and comprehensive care for TB patients is a critical component of strengthening the healthcare system in Baramulla.
