Baramulla, November 24, 2025: In a significant step towards achieving the goal of Housing for All, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today handed over Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0 sanction letters to 20 eligible beneficiaries of Municipal Committee Watergam. The event was attended by Executive Officer MC Watergam, Sarafraz Ahmad Bhat, along with other concerned officers.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to begin construction work at the earliest to ensure timely release of subsequent installments. He emphasized the importance of completing the houses within the stipulated timeframe, maintaining quality standards, and adhering strictly to construction guidelines.
Highlighting the objective of PMAY-U 2.0, the DC noted that the scheme is a crucial government initiative aimed at providing safe, durable, and affordable pucca houses to eligible urban families. He encouraged all beneficiaries to utilize the financial assistance effectively to ensure secure, dignified, and sustainable living conditions.
Executive Officer MC Watergam, Sarafraz Ahmad Bhat, assured full cooperation and support from the Municipal Committee to facilitate smooth implementation of the scheme. He stressed on coordinated efforts between the administration and beneficiaries to ensure timely progress on the ground.
The event concluded with officers reaffirming their commitment to strengthening urban housing infrastructure and ensuring that all eligible families receive the benefits of PMAY-U 2.0.
