BANDIPORA, September 18, 2025 – Deputy Commissioner Bandipora participated in the nationwide live broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on transformative women-centric initiatives, calling on Anganwadi workers and district officials to intensify efforts in delivering health, nutrition, and welfare services at the grassroots level. The event, held at the district headquarters, aligned with the launch of the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’ (Healthy Woman, Empowered Family Campaign) and the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month), emphasizing preventive healthcare and empowerment for women, adolescent girls, and children.Prime Minister Modi, addressing the nation from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh on September 17, unveiled these flagship programs running from September 17 to October 2 (Abhiyaan) and September 17 to October 16 (Poshan Maah). During the broadcast, PM Modi highlighted the role of frontline workers like ASHA, ANM, and Anganwadi staff as “nation builders,” distributing cash benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana to over 15 lakh beneficiaries nationwide and underscoring the vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047 through women’s health and empowerment. In Bandipora, the live viewing session brought together Anganwadi workers, health officials, district administrators, and community representatives, fostering a sense of collective responsibility. DC Bandipora, while urging participants to translate the PM’s vision into action, stressed the critical need to strengthen local delivery mechanisms. “Anganwadi workers are the backbone of our grassroots health and nutrition ecosystem. Let us commit to mobilizing communities, enhancing early childhood care, and ensuring every woman and child in Bandipora benefits from these women-centric schemes,” the DC remarked. The session also featured interactive discussions on integrating digital tools, such as the Facial Recognition System (FRS) for better monitoring, and promoting local diets to combat malnutrition. The district administration has outlined a robust action plan for the Abhiyaan and Poshan Maah, including:
- Health Camps and Screenings: Door-to-door preventive services focusing on maternal and child health, anemia detection, and adolescent wellness.
- Nutrition Awareness Drives: Large-scale sessions at Anganwadi centers on balanced diets, recipe sharing, and supplementation under the Supplementary Nutrition Programme (SNP).
