BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 17: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel Ul Rehman on Saturday chaired a meeting of District Task Force (DTF) on Pulse Polio Immunization 2024.
The meeting was aimed to discuss the planning and implementation of activities for pulse polio immunization-2024 scheduled to be held on 3rd March 2024 across Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting discussed various parameters, including human resources planning, vaccine and cold chain planning, logistics and transport planning, transit points, hard to reach areas, and social mobilization plan.
It was given out in the meeting that Bandipora has 61528 estimated population of children below 5 years, which require 68296 OPV doses and 790 vaccine carriers.
It was informed that 05 transit points have been identified in the district, including Gulshan Chowk, Nowpora Chowk, Bus Stand Nusso, Hajin Market, and Sumbal Bridge.
The meeting was informed that staff has been deputed to Tulail and other higher reaches in advance and a vaccine will be dispatched in next week.
It was given out that the department has taken advance measures to cover the hard to reach areas besides plans have been formulated to start house to house immunization in Gurez from day one keeping in view its scattered population.
The DC emphasized on beforehand planning for the success of all welfare programmes. He stressed upon all the stakeholders to work as a team and ensure that no children below the age of 5 are left without pulse polio immunization.
The DC assured assistance and support from the District Administration at every level for more improvement in the health sector.
The meeting was attended by ADDC/PO ICDS Mohd Ashraf, ADC Umar Shafi Pandit, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Dy CMO, BMO and other concerned.
