Kulgam , October 24,2025- The chief medical officer Kulgam organised a vibrant awareness rally under the banner of Tobacco- Free youth Campaign 3.0, aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of Tobacco and promoting a healthy , addiction -free lifestyle among the youth. The rally was flagged off by DC Kulgam Athar Amir Khan from the district headquarters
Students , health officials , ASHA workers , and volunteers participated in large numbers , holding placards and chanting slogans advocating for a tobacco-free Society. The initiative , organised under the National Tobacco – free society seeks to educate the younger generation about the dangers of tobacco use and encourage community participation in creating a healthier environment
Speaking on the occasion DC Athar Amir Khan commended the efforts of the Health Department and called for a collective commitment to eliminate tobacco use from schools, colleges, and workplaces. He emphasised that awareness and early intervention are key to saving lives and building a health-conscious youth population.
CMO Kulgam highlighted that the campaign aims to reach every educational institution in the district and reinforce the message of “No Tobacco – Yes to Life,” aligning with the government’s mission for a Tobacco-Free Generation.
The rally concluded with a pledge ceremony, where participants vowed to support the cause and inspire others to quit tobacco use.
